Auschwitz 1 portraits

These are a selection of some of the portraits photos that line the corridors of one of the admin blocks in Auschwitz 1. The Nazis took a photograph of each worker for administrative purposes. Although not destined for the gas chambers, these victims rarely left the camp alive, many shot for the most trivial reasons. The flower was placed on one photograph by a relative of the person depicted. November 2014.
